“Touchdown” – DT2 Challenge

Q:  What did the football say to the punter?
A:  I get a kick out of you.
So it’s time for another challenge!!  The challenge this week for DT2 is “Touchdown.”  We are to make a card, layout or project about football using green, blue and brown and add embossing.

This card I actually made for a friend’s husband’s birthday.  What a perfect challenge!
He happens to love the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite player was/is Emmitt Smith – hence the number 22.
Hey, did you hear the Dallas Cowboys joke?

Q: What does a Dallas Cowboys fan do when his team has won the Super Bowl?
A: He turns off the PlayStation 3.

Just kidding!  We gotta love our Dallas Cowboys – right??!!

Okay... Now to the serious stuff... Allow me to introduce my card and explain how I made it...

Card Size is 5x7
Inner layer (blue) is 4.5 x 6.5 – embossed w/swiss dots

All paper used is Recollections and/or DCWV Glitter stack

Football player is from Everyday Paper Dolls -- pg 48 cut at 3”
Football, helmit, uniform and goal post also cut from pg 48
Uniform has blue stickles
“Happy Birthday” is from Wild Card – real dial size – 2.5”
Grass is from Everyday Paper Dolls – pg 40 cut at 2”   -- green stickles added
Stars are from Create A Critter – page 71 – different sizes
Football ribbon is “Celebrate it” from Michaels
The name is some stickers that I've picked up from somewhere!

It’s a pretty simple card and I had lots of fun making it!   And one last joke for you….
Q:  What football player has very strong legs and builds houses?
               A:  A car-punter.
I hope you enjoyed my card (and my jokes) because.....

"Glitter and Shine" -- DT2 Challenge!

All right…. it’s time for GLITTER.  No, not that horrible Mariah Carey movie.  This week’s challenge is all about Glitter.  It is called “Glitter and Shine” and we had to make a card, layout or project and use any colors that we want.  Now, don’t be afraid and think of a huge mess with Elmer’s glue and glitter canisters.  Leave the Hoover in the closet because this week Glitter has grown up.

When hosting a party, it doesn’t matter how great the food is, the music or the guests.  A party is not successful unless you go the extra mile with the DETAILS!!!!!

For this week’s glitter challenge, I am going the extra mile by decorating the bar with a homemade glitter banner.  Nothing says cocktails like a good old fashioned “Cheers”.
I decided to make a glitter Cheers banner to go over the bar area to make it more inviting for party guests. Whether you have hired a bartender or the bar help is yourself, it is the detailed banner that lets everyone know where the bar is and calls them over to grab a drink.
This is an easy, affordable way to add a little sparkle to the party.

And here is my Cheers banner:

Here is a close up of a letter so that you can see just how pretty the glitter really is....

For the banner, I used:

Recollection Glitter Cardstock
Kate’s ABC cartridge for my font
Celebrate It pink ribbon

I cut the letters at 6 inches with my Cricut Expression.
The cardstock was so thick that I actually used the Multi Cut feature and cut it twice.
Once the letters were cut out, I punched holes in each letter with my Crop-A-Dile and
ran the ribbon through it.  SOOO EASY!!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project!

Here is my project.

The card size is A9 (5 ½ x 8 ½).
For the base of the card I used the DCWV Glitter Spring Stack and all other paper was from Recollections.
I used the cartridges Life is A Beach, Wild Card Create a Critter & Paper Doll Dress Up.

The white top layer is cut at 5 x 8.

The little beach girl is cut at 2 ½ inches from the Paper Doll Dress Up Cart – page 29.
Her bathing suit is on page 42, her hair was from page 71.  I bling’d it using a jewel flower that I had on hand.
Her pineapple drink is from Life Is a Beach – page 48.

The cute chair is from Life Is a Beach– cut at 2 ¼ inches and is silver glitter paper from the DCWV Spring Stack. – page 81

The palm tree is also Life Is a Beach – 3 inches – page 41
The crab is Create a Critter – 1 inch – page 40
The sun is from Wild Card – 1.5 inches (real dial size)  - page 55
The Summer Lovin letters I did using my Gypsy.  I used the Gypsy Font cart and welded and cut at 1.75 inches.
The sand was just tan glitter paper from DCWV and I embossed it with my cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.

The waves are from Life Is a Beach.  I used the “border” layer and cut two of them at 1 inch.  Page 45.
I handcut the darker blue water behind the waves and I then embossed them on the cuttlebug using the D’Vine Swirls folder.

Thank you for stopping by and taking the hop with us.  Your next fun summer stop is AnnMarie’s page http://junegirl68.blogspot.com/

Keep cool and have a wonderful day!!!  Happy blogging!!!

Just A Scrappin's DT Challenge -- Vacation Time!

Hi Everyone!

It's time for another Just A Scrappin' Challenge.  This week's theme is "Vacation Time" using only the colors blue, white, green and brown.   I know we think of beaches as vacation time this time of year but it is so hot right now that this is the vacation that this Queen B would love to take right about now!!

The card is 5x7 using Recollections cardstock from Michaels.
The mountain scene was cut at 4 inches, the car was cut a 2.5 inches.  Both images were cut with the Cricut Machine using the Campin’ Critters cartridge.  To adhere the images, I used double-sided adhesive dots from Recollections and the Martha Stewart ballpoint – tip glue pen. This is especially great for small areas.

For the larger area, I used my ATG gun. Love that tool!!
Also, another tool that I absolutely love to use is the Making Memories tweezers.  Now, these tweezers work backwards from regular tweezers.  You squeeze to open the tweezer tip,  grab your tiny piece of paper and once you let go, the tweezer closes and holds the paper for you. This comes in very handy for small and tiny pieces of paper to prevent glue from getting all over your hands and possibly the paper sticking to your fingers instead of the card, lol.
Additional supplies that  I used was the Gelly Roll white for the stitching look, Celebrate It ribbon, Bling by Jolee’s, Martha Stewart glitter for the “snow” on the mountains and my favorite……………..drumroll please…………..
Inkadinkado blending chalks on the Vacation tag.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my card.  How cute would it be to possibly put somebody’s picture on the in inside of the car window?!!!!!
